Jumblatt: To respect all religious and spiritual authorities

Former head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, contacted the director of the Catholic Media Center, Monsignor Abdo Abou Kassem, denouncing the targeting of Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, and affirming "the necessity of respecting all religious and spiritual authorities, and rising above any offense in political or media criticism that could inflame tensions and divisions and open the door to sedition."

Jumblatt also denounced the incitement issued by some media outlets, questioning what the National Media Council is doing "to limit inflammatory rhetoric or sectarian mobilization."
