Douris Municipality: Bkerke and its Head are the First Line of Defense for Lebanon and its Freedom

The Municipality of Douris issued the following statement:

"The head and members of Douris Municipality condemn "in the strongest terms the campaigns of abuse and slander" that targeted His Beatitude Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi.

The Municipal Council also affirms its categorical rejection of any harm to Islamic, Christian, humanitarian, and national religious values, which form the basis of coexistence in Lebanon.

And we call on everyone to adhere to the highest degree of responsibility and refrain from crossing "red lines" to preserve national unity.

Bkerke and its head are the first line of defense for Lebanon, its freedom, sovereignty, and independence, and we reject any offense to any religious authorities from all sects.

We also affirm that our weapon is national unity between Muslims and Christians, and we demand that the Lebanese state hold accountable anyone who offends religious figures.

May God protect Lebanon from all sedition, and may God curse those who try to awaken it."
