The Education Leagues (Secondary – Vocational – Basic) congratulated the workers on their holiday, announcing "a strike on Wednesday and Thursday, the 6th and 7th of the current month, in protest of the non-payment of the six salaries."
It noted in a statement that "the Official Education Leagues, stemming from their belief that workers are the foundation for building the nation, and that professors and teachers are the messengers working to build minds, believe that their rights must be protected, and officials should not be clever in denying them."
The Leagues demanded the rights of professors and teachers, considering that "the approval of six salaries is a small part of these rights on the long path of struggle, their value having diminished before they are even disbursed, however, what was issued by the Minister of Finance regarding their non-payment was provocative and called for escalatory stances, the latest of which was last week's strike," calling on everyone "to commit to subsequent steps and solidarity to obtain their rights," calling on the Parliament to "include the opening of necessary appropriations in its first upcoming session, in order to disburse the salaries due since the beginning of March," and "we will not be convinced by scaremongering about collapse, because the value of the increase has been collected since the approval of the increase in gasoline prices."
The Leagues announced that they "will intensify their communications with all concerned parties in the government, the Parliament, and the Ministries of Education and Finance "to address matters before it's too late.""
