Ministry of Public Works commences preparing the Jisr Qamar border crossing.

The Ministry of Public Works, under the directives of Minister of Public Works Fayez Rassamni, commenced the preparation work for the Al-Buqaia border crossing (Jisr Qamar crossing), in response to a request from the General Directorate of General Security, following the coordination meeting held with the Syrian side.

Ministry teams have begun implementing the necessary field works to open and rehabilitate the crossing, ensuring operational readiness as quickly as possible, in preparation for its commissioning in accordance with approved standards and public safety requirements.

The Ministry affirmed, in a statement, "that it is following up on these works at an accelerated pace and in full coordination with the concerned authorities, to facilitate transit movement and enhance border connectivity in a way that serves the public interest."
