Lebanon: Mukhtar Denounces False Evacuation Call Claims After Deadly Strike
A local official in Lebanon refutes social media rumors that the targeted family received an evacuation warning before a deadly airstrike.

Rumors circulating on social media that a displaced family received a call demanding they evacuate their home before being targeted in a strike today have been categorically denied by the mukhtar of the town of Amin Shumer. In a statement, the official described the reports as completely baseless, calling them "mere rumors, pure slander, and lies" against a family that has suffered casualties, injuries, and loss of life.
The mukhtar characterized the spread of such claims as an attempt to justify the "brutality of the enemy and its heinous crime," which he said is added to a long record of atrocities. He further revealed that similar false information had circulated the previous day, originating from some local teenagers who spread warnings about evacuations in neighborhoods and homes far from the location of the strike that occurred today.
Those earlier rumors were later exposed as "lies and games" by the teenagers, according to the mukhtar, who stated the individuals have been identified and will be pursued for their "despicable and dangerous actions."
