A horrific crime has shaken public opinion in Britain, after the High Court in Glasgow convicted a woman of killing her infant daughter. The shock did not stop at the murder, but extended to the mother exploiting the incident to collect financial donations via the "TikTok" platform.

Shocking Crime Details in Glasgow

Scottish judiciary issued its verdict convicting "Nicole Blain" (30 years old) of killing her daughter "Thea Jon Wilson". The crime occurred inside her apartment in Greenock in July 2023, when the infant was no more than 19 days old.

Medical investigations revealed severe injuries suffered by the child, including:

  • Three skull fractures and severe bleeding behind the eyes.

  • Multiple rib fractures and permanent brain damage.

  • Injuries resulting from violent shaking and repeated impact with hard surfaces.

Exploiting "TikTok" to Collect Money

Immediately after the crime, Blain posted emotional videos on "TikTok" claiming an "unexpected tragedy" had occurred. She asked followers to donate to cover funeral costs, expressing her desire to rent a horse-drawn carriage to transport the coffin.

Furthermore, the convict appeared in videos performing "lip-sync" to sad songs and claiming psychological breakdown. Accordingly, the prosecution considered these actions an attempt to cover up her crime and elicit public sympathy for financial gain.

Attempts to Evade Justice

The accused attempted to defend herself by blaming another child who was present in the apartment, claiming she found her on the floor. However, medical experts refuted this account, confirming that the injuries could not have resulted from an accidental fall.

On the other hand, Blain referred to her suffering from "postpartum depression," but the jury rejected these justifications after a week of deliberations, which ended with her conviction for murder.

Awaiting Final Verdict

Judge Lord Scott announced that a life sentence is the inevitable fate for the accused. The minimum term of the sentence is scheduled to be determined in next month's session, while Blain remains in custody after appearing completely distraught the moment she was restrained and led to her cell.

Case Facts:

  • Victim: An infant only 19 days old.

  • Charge: Murder and severe physical assault.

  • Expected Sentence: Life imprisonment.
