The village of Al-Mansha Al-Kubra, affiliated with El Santa Center in Gharbia Governorate, northern Egypt, witnessed a state of intense terror. A huge cobra, about two meters long, appeared on one of the trees. Consequently, civil defense forces immediately intervened to control the situation and kill it. This incident comes amid increasing fears of the spread of venomous reptiles in residential areas.

Official move to agriculturally survey the area First, the Gharbia Veterinary Directorate intensified its preventive measures. It formed a technical committee to combat toxins and harmful animals in the area. Moreover, the field survey included agricultural drains and surrounding dense weeds. The goal is to ensure completely that no other reptiles threaten the lives of residents. On the other hand, the competent authorities urged residents to exercise extreme caution.

Environmental causes and rising temperatures In addition, veterinary experts indicated that climate changes play a significant role. Rising temperatures push venomous creatures out of their burrows in search of a humid environment. Consequently, these reptiles may appear in villages due to ecological imbalance. Despite this, experts confirmed that these cases remain "individual" and not a collective phenomenon. Therefore, agricultural and abandoned areas remain the most attractive environment for these species.

Hypothesis of escape and illegal trade On the other hand, some experts believe that the cobra might have escaped from a "reptile breeder," as some tend to acquire these animals illegally or trade in their skins. Certainly, venomous snakes usually do not prefer to approach crowded human settlements. For this reason, some suggest that the snake was looking for shelter after escaping from its breeding place. Despite the historical presence of cobras in Egypt, their appearance within residential blocks remains a cause for concern.

Security alert and continuous awareness Finally, authorities in Gharbia Governorate raised the level of preparedness to confront any similar reports. In addition, warnings spread on social media about the appearance of snakes in neighboring villages. As a result, anxiety prevails among farmers and residents of rural areas at present. Certainly, immediate reporting to the competent authorities remains the only way to safely deal with these dangerous creatures.
