All 277 passengers and 11 crew members were safely evacuated from a Turkish Airlines aircraft after a fire broke out following its landing in Kathmandu, Nepal. The emergency prompted a one-hour closure of the airport.

A spokesperson for Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the aircraft was an Airbus A330 that had arrived from Istanbul. The fire ignited in the right rear tire of the plane after the landing was completed.

Footage circulating on news platforms showed the evacuation of passengers from the Turkish Airlines jet at the Nepalese capital's airport following the limited fire.
