Saudi Defense Ministry confirms interception of four drones, followed by a fifth in the Eastern region, amid escalating Houthi attacks.

The Saudi Defense Ministry announced the successful interception and destruction of four unmanned aerial vehicles launched toward the Kingdom. Turky Al-Malki, the ministry spokesperson, detailed on platform X that these defensive operations took place within the Eastern Province and the Al Madinah Al Munawwarah region.
Al-Malki did not identify the specific entity responsible for launching the initial batch of drones. In a subsequent statement, he confirmed the interception of an additional drone, also located in the Eastern Province, bringing the total number of neutralized threats to five during this period.
This development coincides with intensified offensive actions by the Iran-backed Houthi movement against Saudi territory throughout the current month. The group has targeted critical infrastructure, including strikes on Riyadh Airport.
One such attack on October 10 resulted in the deaths of thirteen individuals and injured hundreds more. This incident represents the most severe assault on Saudi soil recorded in over ten years.
