En Líbano: ira y protestas en las cárceles
Las prisiones libaneses, incluida la central de Roumieh, viven un clima de tensión por el retraso en aplicar la ley de amnistía general.

Several Lebanese prisons, including the central Roumieh prison, witnessed protest movements amid anger and tension among inmates due to delays in implementing the general amnesty law and the ambiguity surrounding its application mechanisms.
The Committee of Prisoners' Families in Lebanon stated that families have been waiting for the release of their sons since the law came into effect, denouncing what they described as "unjustified hesitation and slowness in completing the necessary procedures to free those covered by it."
The committee added that keeping the law before the Constitutional Council for more than a month provided sufficient time to prepare implementation mechanisms and compile lists of beneficiaries, questioning why a clear plan has not yet been announced despite all this time.
The committee criticized the fact that families are forced to follow news sites and press leaks to obtain information about the fate of their relatives, considering that "the implementation measures of the amnesty law are not state secrets and must be officially announced to public opinion, prisoners, and their families."
It also noted that prison administrations respond to inmates' inquiries by stating they lack data regarding release dates or procedures, questioning why this ambiguity persists despite the law being in force.
The committee demanded that the Public Prosecution announce a clear implementation mechanism and accelerate release procedures, warning that continued hesitation exacerbates tension inside prisons and increases the suffering of families.
