Why is Google releasing another Flash model just three weeks after the last update?

Google has launched Gemini 3.8 Flash, described as its most intelligent Flash model yet, engineered specifically for long-horizon software engineering, autonomous agents, and complex enterprise workflows.

The new model enters service three weeks after the prior release. It outperforms its predecessor across multiple benchmark evaluations.

Pricing remains unchanged from the previous Flash iteration: an introductory rate of $0.75 per 1 million input tokens and $3.75 per 1 million output tokens applies through December 31.

Gemini 3.8 Flash is already available in the Gemini app for Google AI subscribers, as well as within Antigravity and AI Studio platforms.
