China's exports increased by 19.4% in dollar terms in May compared to the previous year, while imports rose 27.4%, according to customs data.

Data released by Chinese customs on Tuesday revealed that the country's export growth accelerated in May, with exports rising 19.4 percent in dollar value compared to the same period last year. Imports increased by 27.4 percent during the same timeframe.
Economists surveyed by Reuters had anticipated a 15 percent year-on-year increase in exports, which would be higher than the 14.1 percent growth recorded in April.
Imports were forecasted to grow by 25 percent, compared to a 25.3 percent increase in the previous year.
