Al Jazeera reported that the Iranian currency has dropped to a historic low, exceeding two million rials per US dollar.

Earlier, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that "the day of economic reckoning for Iran is coming," announcing that Washington will begin at dawn today what it described as "the largest financial attack" ever launched against Tehran.

Bessent explained that the move aims to cut off every economic lifeline sustaining the Iranian regime, warning countries whose fate is tied to Tehran that this path to sustainable prosperity will be closed to them.

He added that any country serving as a "financial artery" for Iran should expect to share in its isolation, while simultaneously confirming that President Donald Trump will respond "swiftly and firmly" to any military action targeting American forces or Gulf states.
