Elon Musk has regained his position as the world’s wealthiest individual and its first trillionaire, with his net worth climbing past the $1.046 trillion mark. This surge was primarily driven by the rising stock value of SpaceX, reflecting how equity market movements directly impact the fortunes of major investors and founders.

Musk Leads Global Wealth Rankings

According to the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires index on October 6, 2026, Musk holds the top spot globally. His wealth is anchored in Tesla and SpaceX, where he maintains dual American and South African citizenship. The index places Jensen Huang, founder of Nvidia, in seventh place worldwide, highlighting the significant presence of technology leaders at the upper echelons of global wealth.

Buffett Surpasses Inditex Founder

Warren Buffett, widely known as the "Oracle of Omaha," has re-entered the list of the ten richest people in the world. The American businessman surpassed Spanish billionaire Amancio Ortega, the founder of fashion retailer Inditex. Buffett’s net worth rose to $143 billion, an increase of nearly half a billion dollars, according to the real-time data from Forbes.

Conversely, Ortega’s fortune declined to $139.7 billion following a 1.6% drop in Inditex shares. This recent decline extended a month-long downward trend for the company’s stock, which has now fallen approximately 7.7%. These shifts illustrate the volatility affecting even the most established retail empires compared to the tech-driven gains seen elsewhere.

Top Ten Billionaires Profile

The current ranking details the specific assets and nationalities of the leading figures. Jeff Bezos, the Amazon founder, sits second with $371.1 billion. Larry Page, associated with Google, ranks third at $284.3 billion, followed closely by Michael Dell of Dell Technologies at $272.2 billion. Sergey Brin, also linked to Google and holding Russian-American heritage, occupies the fifth position with $261.7 billion.

  • Mark Zuckerberg: Meta (American) – $254.3 billion
  • Jensen Huang: Nvidia (Taiwanese-American) – $206.7 billion
  • Larry Ellison: Oracle (American) – $184.9 billion
  • Steve Ballmer: Los Angeles Clippers Owner (American) – $162.5 billion
  • Warren Buffett: Berkshire Hathaway CEO (American) – $143.3 billion

The list underscores the dominance of American entrepreneurs, particularly those in technology and finance sectors. While traditional industries like fashion have faced headwinds, the valuation of private space ventures and digital platforms continues to propel their founders to unprecedented financial heights.
