Germany Sees Record Rise in Same-Sex Divorces in 2025

Germany experienced a notable increase in divorces among same-sex couples in 2025, according to data released by the Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden. The number of such divorces reached approximately 1,700 cases, accounting for 1.3% of all divorces nationwide.
