Krunoslav Jurcic, the Croatian manager of Pyramids FC, has reportedly expressed willingness to take a significant pay cut to coach Al Ahly, according to a report by Modern Sport channel. The news comes as Jurcic approaches the end of his contract with Pyramids, with no renewal talks underway and growing tensions between him and several players.

The Egyptian Premier League giants are searching for a successor to Danish coach Yas Turop, whose departure at the end of the season has been decided. Al Ahly's sports committee is reviewing multiple foreign candidates, adhering to the club's established criteria for selecting a head coach.

According to the Modern Sport report, Jurcic's name was proposed to Al Ahly's management through an intermediary. The Croatian coach is said to have told those close to him that he is ready to substantially reduce his salary compared to what he earns with Pyramids in order to lead the Red Devils.

Reservations and Rejection

However, the same report indicated that Al Ahly's administration has reservations about hiring the Croatian manager. After observing his behavior during matches, officials noted a pattern of nervousness and tension in his dealings with players, leading them to remove his name from the list of candidates for the coaching position.

Meanwhile, Al Ahly is preparing for a crucial match against Al Masry on May 20 at the Army Stadium in Borg El Arab, which will conclude the Egyptian Premier League season. The Red Devils need a victory combined with stumbles by Zamalek and Pyramids to keep their hopes of winning the league title alive this season.
