Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona officially announced the departure of their Polish striker Robert Lewandowski at the end of the current season on Saturday. The club posted on its official X account: "Came as a star. Leaves as a legend."

In a message directed at the 37-year-old player, the club added: "Thank you, Robert Lewandowski, for every goal, every battle, and every magic moment while wearing the shirt. You will remain a Culer forever."

Lewandowski himself posted a farewell message on his Instagram account, stating: "The time has come for me to move on. The mission is accomplished." He continued: "Four seasons, three league titles. The Polish international striker joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in July 2022. According to the statistical website Transfermarkt, he played 375 matches for Bayern, scoring 344 goals and providing 73 assists, winning the majority of his career titles, most notably the UEFA Champions League, with the German club.

During his time at Barcelona, Lewandowski played 191 matches, scoring 119 goals and providing 24 assists.
