Manchester United will field a 22-man squad for Saturday’s pre-season fixture against AC Milan in Poland, with Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo, and Lisandro Martinez all included after returning from international duty at the World Cup across North America.

Returnees’ first pre-season minutes expected

All three players attended United’s 1-1 draw with Leeds United at Croke Park but did not appear on the pitch. They joined Michael Carrick’s group last week following extended breaks tied to England’s and Argentina’s deep tournament runs.

Carrick confirmed the trio trained intensively upon reintegration: “Marcus, Licha and Kobbie only came back a couple of days ago so they're not quite ready but we can have them for the weekend.” He added: “We trained hard, the boys who came in, Marcus, Kobbie and Licha have trained really hard and we'll have a recovery day tomorrow.”

The squad will train on Friday before the match on Saturday, with Carrick stating: “We'll all recover tomorrow, train Friday and prepare for the game on Saturday [against Milan]. Again, we'll get the balance right of minutes.”

Squad composition and absences

Harry Maguire rejoins the travelling group after missing the Leeds draw. Mason Mount remains unavailable due to an injury sustained against Paris Saint-Germain.

Benjamin Sesko, Karl Darlow, and Matthijs de Ligt will not travel to Poland. Instead, they will return to Carrington from County Kildare to continue preparations ahead of the season’s start.

The full 22-man squad includes the following midfielders: Andrey Santos, Bruno Fernandes, Jack Fletcher, Kobbie Mainoo, Toby Collyer, Tyler Fletcher, and Youri Tielemans.

Forwards selected are: Amad, Bryan Mbeumo, JJ Gabriel, Joshua Zirkzee, Marcus Rashford, Matheus Cunha, and Shea Lacey.
