Barcelona coach Hansi Flick will hold individual meetings with several players to discuss their future and roles for the 2026-2027 season.

A series of one-on-one meetings between Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick and several squad members is set to take place in the coming period. The discussions will center on each player's future at the club and clarify their technical roles for the new 2026-2027 season, as part of intensive preparations for the project ahead.
According to "Mundo Deportivo," the German coach aims to explain each player's situation directly, outlining his technical expectations and the demands of the upcoming phase. This approach is intended to allow everyone to make clear decisions, especially since most of the players involved hold active contracts with the Catalan club.
Barcelona is currently laying the groundwork for its new project before the World Cup captures global attention, which could bring major changes to the transfer market. Although Flick insists his immediate focus is on the two remaining matches against Real Betis and Valencia, he maintains constant communication with sporting director Deco to discuss the team's needs and plans for next season.
Flick has a group of players he considers untouchable core pillars, but the status of other elements remains open to all possibilities. This is due either to the need to sell some players to achieve financial balance or to their diminished role in the starting lineup. Reports indicate this situation applies to several prominent names, including Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde, as well as Ronald Araújo, whose case remains one of the most contentious within the club.
Regarding Koundé, the player finished the season at a less consistent level compared to the previous year, at a time when Barcelona's management sees the right-back position as needing clear reinforcement. Significant offers for his transfer are expected during the next window. As for Balde, his role has noticeably declined after João Cancelo adapted to his position, while Gerard Martín has become an important option on the left defensive flank. This has prompted the club to study the possibility of signing a new player for this position.
Concerning Araújo, his situation is considered one of the most sensitive files, especially after a difficult season in which he lost his starting place due to health and psychological issues that affected his readiness, despite his insistence on staying and honoring his contract with Barcelona. Uncertainty also surrounds the future of Rony, whom Flick saw as a suitable alternative to Lamine Yamal. However, the Swedish winger failed to make a significant impact during the Clásico, before later losing his place to Marcus Rashford, whose case appears somewhat different from the rest of the players.
