The Egyptian men's national football team witnessed a surprising development following the announcement of an unexpected resignation within its ranks.

This came after Mohamed Morad, the Pharaohs' media coordinator, announced his resignation from his position, ending a journey that lasted nearly 5 years within the administrative staff of the national team, at a critical time ahead of upcoming commitments.

Morad's decision followed a long period of working with successive technical staffs, starting from Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz, through the various stages witnessed by the team, up to the current staff led by Hossam Hassan and his brother Ibrahim Hassan.

Resignation in the Egyptian National Team
The media coordinator announced his decision via his personal account on the social networking site Facebook, confirming that he took it after long consideration, thereby putting an end to his career with the national team, a step that may open the door to changes within the administrative and media apparatus of the Pharaohs.

Morad noted that he made every effort to present the media side of the national team in a distinctive manner throughout the past years, explaining that he was solely responsible for this duty despite the volume of tasks associated with covering the team's activities and monitoring its international engagements and major tournaments.

He indicated that the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco was one of the most prominent stations during his tenure, before speaking about the World Cup as the most important and best experience in his personal career and that of the national team and Egyptian fans.

Morad revealed that the national team's media work during the World Cup received praise from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), clarifying that this praise reached him via an email message, despite him performing the duties alone, while other teams employed at least four media coordinators.

A Message of Support for Hossam Hassan
In a notable message, the former media coordinator was keen to confirm that the period of working with Hossam Hassan and Ibrahim Hassan was the best, most important, and most successful for him, expressing his hope that the duo would receive the necessary support from officials during the next phase, if there is a genuine desire to build a strong national team.

Morad's message did not stop at announcing the resignation and evaluating his years of work; he directed a cryptic message to a person inside the Football Association at the end of his speech, saying: "I stayed against your will and left according to my mood," without revealing the identity of the intended person or details of the dispute he referred to.

He also made sure to thank a number of personalities who contributed to his presence in his position, including Ahmed Diab, Gamal Allam, Mohamed Yahya Lotfy, Walid Al-Attar, Ola El-Shafei, and Abdel Fattah Abdel Monem, praising the board members he dealt with during his tenure.

Morad's resignation comes before a critical period for the Egyptian national team, amid preparations by the technical staff led by Hossam Hassan for upcoming commitments, which makes his departure a new development within the administrative system of the national team, apart from any announcement regarding the future of the head coach himself.
