Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee wrote on his account on X: "The terrorist Hezbollah turned Shaqif Castle from an archaeological site belonging to the Lebanese state into a terrorist stronghold with Iranian support and direction."

He added, "Turning heritage and national sites into military concentration points is a violation of state sovereignty before anything else, and Hezbollah's false denial, which field facts have refuted, does not change the documented facts one bit."
