After Israeli Claims, Lebanese Army Settles Debate Over What Happened at Kfarra Facility and Targeted Truck
The Lebanese Army issued a statement refuting Israeli claims regarding operations in the south of Litani, detailing the timeline of work at the Kfarra military facility and clarifying the context of a targeted truck.
The following statement was issued by the Lebanese Army Command – Guidance Directorate:
On 20 / 10 / 2026, the Israeli occupation launched false claims via its official page on the X platform regarding the Lebanese Army's work in the area south of the Litani River, questioning its ability to carry out assigned tasks.
In this context, the Army Command clarifies that military units began addressing a military facility in the town of Kfarra – Bint Jbeil in December 2025, and continued executing their mission until 16 / 3 / 2026, when they halted work inside the facility and evacuated the area at the request of the Committee on Supervising the Cessation of Hostilities (Mechanism) due to Israeli threats to bomb it. It is noted that the Army Command informed them that the task had not yet been completed, and that a quantity of military equipment and ammunition remained inside the facility, which subsequently suffered an Israeli bombardment.
Despite the Army repeatedly demanding security for resuming work to complete the emptying of the facility, these efforts faced Israeli refusal, until military units resumed their mission on 15 / 8 / 2026, in coordination with the Mechanism, and continued working until its final completion and closure of the facility on 16 / 10 / 2026.
As for the video clip showing a truck subjected to Israeli targeting, it dates back to 3 / 7 / 2026 in the Sidqin – Tyre area, i.e., about a week after the signing of the framework agreement.
The Army Command confirms that all these facts and procedures are documented with the Committee on Supervising the Cessation of Hostilities, which refutes the Israeli claims and proves the reality of the efforts made by the military institution in the South. It also stresses that the repetition of disinformation campaigns and the spread of lies recently by the Israeli occupation falls within the context of attempts to undermine the credibility of the Army locally and internationally, coinciding with ongoing negotiations.
The Army Command renews its confirmation of full commitment to performing its duties and pledges and executing assigned tasks, while the Israeli occupation continues its attacks and violations of existing understandings.”
