Aoun: Balanced and Mutually Respectful Relations with Syria

President Joseph Aoun received a Syrian ministerial delegation at Baabda Palace, affirming that "the visit is an indicator of the sound relationship between the two countries, and I attach great importance to advancing the idea of regional economic integration."

He stated that "there are capabilities that must be activated through balanced and mutually respectful relations, and Lebanon's and Syria's unique geographical positions qualify them to play an alternative role during periods of tension in the region."

On his part, Syrian Minister of Economy Mohammad Nadal Al-Shaer highlighted that "our presence in Lebanon today aims to establish Syrian-Lebanese partnerships and open a new chapter based on peace, love, loyalty, and balance in relations."

Syrian Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Al-Bassat emphasized that "we are focusing on making relations between the two countries institutionalized through agreements and protocols, and leveraging the reshaping of the regional map."
