Aoun congratulates on release of prisoners: May Lebanese live with dignity in a homeland where only legitimate forces bear arms

President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun expressed his thanks for all the efforts and initiatives undertaken, particularly by the United States under President Donald Trump, and international entities, foremost among them the International Red Cross, which led today to the release of the first batch of detained Lebanese by the Israeli government.

He said: "This initial step reaffirms the effectiveness of Lebanon's firm position, in all its components, as well as the necessity of completing the required steps outlined in the trilateral framework, toward achieving full, unimpaired Lebanese sovereignty—neither a single inch of our land diminished, nor a single person of our people missing.

President Aoun concluded by "extending congratulations on freedom to each released prisoner, as well as to their families and relatives, reiterating our pledge to continue the struggle to achieve all national demands and objectives, so that all Lebanese may live with dignity in a free homeland, where only legitimate forces bear arms upon its soil, and only their own state—the protective, capable, and just guarantor—holds sovereignty over their sons and daughters."
