Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolphe Heikal visited Cyprus on October 7 and 8, 2026, meeting with Cypriot counterparts to discuss regional developments and strengthen military cooperation.

Army Commander, General Rodolphe Heikal, visited the Republic of Cyprus on October 7 and 8, 2026, in response to an official invitation from his Cypriot counterpart, Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Emmanouel Theodorou.
General Heikal began his visit at the Cypriot Ministry of Defense, where he was received with official honors. He met with Minister of Defense Vasilis Palmas, attended by Lieutenant General Theodorou.
The discussions during the meeting covered the latest developments in Lebanon and the region, issues of mutual interest, and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries' armies amid the challenges facing the region.
Afterwards, the Army Commander laid a wreath at the Memorial for the Fallen.
He also visited several military centers, including the Cyclops Training Center, where he met with Lebanese Army officers attending training courses, and the Joint Rescue Coordination Center. He reviewed the progress of exercises and various missions, particularly the joint training between the Lebanese and Cypriot armies.
Additionally, the Lebanese Ambassador to Cyprus, Rina Charbel, hosted a dinner in honor of General Heikal at the Lebanese Embassy, attended by several ambassadors of Arab countries and Arab and Cypriot diplomatic figures.
