Beirut Port Joins the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor
The management of Beirut and Tripoli ports signed a joint declaration in New Delhi to launch the IMEC Ports Club, aiming to enhance trade connectivity between India, the Middle East, and Europe.

The management and investment authority of Beirut Port, represented by Chairman and General Manager Marwan Al-Nafi, and Tripoli Port, represented by its Board Chairman Iskandar Bandeli, signed the joint declaration launching the "India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) Ports Club" in the Indian capital, New Delhi.
The signing comes in the context of expanding cooperation among ports located along the economic corridor route, which aims to strengthen commercial and logistical connectivity between India, the Middle East, the Mediterranean region, and Europe, opening avenues for ports and economic partners to contribute to the development of this route.
The joint declaration stipulates the establishment of the "IMEC Ports Club" as an open platform for dialogue and cooperation among ports, with the goal of bringing ports and their economic and logistical systems closer together, exchanging expertise, and developing practical initiatives and scalable pilot projects, without creating a new institutional structure.
Cooperation focuses on areas of connectivity and supply chains, facilitating trade and procedures, energy and decarbonization, in addition to digitalization and data interoperability.
The "IMEC Ports Club" aims to contribute to the creation of a smoother, more reliable, resilient, and sustainable trade corridor, enhancing opportunities for trade, investment, and logistics services between the regions connected by the corridor.
