Cabinet Amends Transport Allowance: 5 Liters of Gasoline Daily, Capped at 800,000 Lira
Lebanese Information Minister Paul Morcos announced that the Cabinet has amended the transport allowance to cover five liters of gasoline daily, with a minimum of 500,000 and a maximum of 800,000 Lebanese lira.

Information Minister Paul Morcos announced, following a Cabinet session, the approval of the draft law establishing the Supreme Council for Special Economic Zones and Technology Industries.
Morcos clarified that the Cabinet also approved the abolition of certain positions within the Ministry of Public Health as part of government reforms.
Regarding the transport allowance, Morcos announced its amendment to equal the cost of five liters of gasoline per day, with a minimum of 500,000 Lebanese lira and a maximum of 800,000 Lebanese lira.
In the energy file, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam raised during the session the project of converting liquefied natural gas into natural gas via a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) in the Deir Ammar area, as part of a public-private partnership.
In the same context, the Cabinet rejected the approval of the clause related to abolishing the 300,000 lira fee proposed by ministers from the "Lebanese Forces," and requested the Energy Minister to prepare the necessary legal framework.
