The head of the National Union of Lebanese Farmers, Ibrahim al-Tarshishi, called in a statement for all farmers to "prepare to implement a general and comprehensive strike, accompanied by the closure of roads in various Lebanese territories, in protest against the 'manufactured' fuel crisis that is hitting the Bekaa region," considering that it is "a result of oil companies' monopoly and their pursuit of more profits at the expense of citizens and productive sectors."
