President Joseph Aoun received a phone call from Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Secretary of State of the Vatican, who expressed the Holy See's support for the measures taken by the President to establish security and stability throughout Lebanon, with particular attention to the southern region. The Cardinal inquired about the situation along the southern border and the phase following the Washington negotiations.

Cardinal Parolin affirmed that the Holy See is closely monitoring the developments in Lebanon, and that His Holiness Pope John Paul XIV continually prays for the end of the Lebanese people's suffering and the establishment of peace across the country.

President Aoun also thanked Cardinal Parolin for the Vatican's support for Lebanon and the Holy Father's concern. He confirmed ongoing cooperation with the Lebanese government to restore security and stability in Lebanon and to extend state authority over all its territories. He asked the Cardinal to convey the gratitude of the Lebanese people to the Pope for his love toward Lebanon and its citizens.
