Defense Minister Discusses with Rasamny Plans to Reopen Qlayaat Airport
Lebanese Defense Minister Michel Mansi met with Public Works and Transport Minister Fayez Rasamny and other officials to review progress on plans to rehabilitate and operate the Martyr René Moawad - Qlayaat Airport.

Defense Minister General Michel Mansi received at his office in Yarze today Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasamny, Head of the Airport Security Apparatus Brigadier General Fadi Kfoury, and Commander of the Lebanese Air Force Brigadier General Michel Al-Saifi. The progress achieved in the plans set to rehabilitate and operate the Martyr René Moawad - Qlayaat Airport was reviewed.
Those present agreed on the importance of the project at both the developmental and economic levels, in addition to its current role as a military air base, and the role it can play in stimulating commercial and tourist movement in the northern region and creating new job opportunities.
The meeting also addressed the ongoing coordination between the relevant authorities to follow up on the implementation of the project according to the set plans, contributing to the development of the air transport sector and enhancing vital infrastructure in Lebanon.
