In the context of ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking crimes, specialized units continue surveillance and pursuit operations to apprehend dealers and seize drugs intended for distribution. In this regard, information was received by the Jbeil Investigation Unit within the Regional Gendarmerie regarding a person involved in drug trafficking while riding a motorcycle in the Achrafieh neighborhood.

Following careful follow-up and surveillance, a patrol successfully apprehended the suspect on August 17, 2026, while he was riding a motorcycle. The individual, named A. S. (born 1998, Syrian), attempted to resist security forces during his arrest.

Upon search, 21 capsules containing white powder, two packages of marijuana, 11 bags containing kief, four large bags containing kief, two mobile phones, and a sum of money were found in his possession.

Concurrently, on the same day, after receiving intelligence about another individual trafficking drugs on a motorcycle in the Achrafieh area, a patrol conducted surveillance and apprehended the suspect while he was riding the motorcycle. The individual, named M. D. (born 2009, Syrian, according to his statements).

Upon search, 12 medium-sized wrapped capsules, three differently sized capsules containing white powder, one mobile phone, and a sum of money were discovered in his possession.

The two suspects and all seized items were handed over to the responsible unit for legal proceedings in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.
