Education Minister Leads Trust Fund Meeting and Presents 2026-2027 Plan

Education and Higher Education Minister Rima Karamy presided over the regular meeting of the "Trust Fund for Education" (TREF) held in the ministry's conference hall. The session included partners and funders of the trust fund: the European Union, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, and UNICEF. During the meeting, progress achieved in the current 2025-2026 academic year in collaboration with the fund was presented. The ministry also highlighted key initiatives during this exceptional phase, including shelter provision, education continuity, distance learning, reopening of numerous schools in relatively safe areas, securing support centers, and advancing digital transformation.

The ministry then outlined its plan for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year, which falls within the framework of Vision 2040. This plan comprises seven main objectives: education and learning for all, infrastructure and learning environment, digital transformation, systems and governance, education workforce, partnership and social commitment, and social cohesion and well-being.

Additionally, the meeting addressed critical needs such as the reconstruction of destroyed schools and the rehabilitation of schools requiring refurbishment. The trust fund partners expressed their readiness to support the ministry’s plans and projects.
