Finance Minister Yassin Jaber Meets Kuwaiti, French Ambassadors and UN Resident Coordinator

Finance Minister Yassin Jaber welcomed in his office the Ambassador of Kuwait to Lebanon, Mohammed Sultan Al-Sharji, the United Nations Resident Coordinator Jean Arnault, and the French Ambassador Hervé Magro during farewell visits on the occasion of the conclusion of their diplomatic assignments in Lebanon.

During his meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador Mohammed Sultan Al-Sharji, discussions focused on the Lebanese-Kuwaiti relations and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries, particularly in economic and financial sectors.

Jaber also met with the UN Resident Coordinator, where they discussed the existing cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and United Nations agencies, including technical and institutional support programs aimed at strengthening reforms and developing public financial management.

The minister concluded his meetings by receiving the French Ambassador in a farewell visit marking the end of his mission. Jaber expressed gratitude for the ambassador’s efforts during his tenure in Lebanon and appreciated France’s role in supporting Lebanon on various levels, wishing him success in his future assignments.

Additionally, Jaber chaired a meeting dedicated to municipal affairs, attended by Faten Abu Al-Hassan, Director General of Local Administrations and Councils from the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, George Al-Ma’arawi, Director General of Finance, and Rana Karam, Director of the Treasury from the Ministry of Finance. The meeting addressed several financial and administrative files related to municipalities and municipal unions, as well as mechanisms for their follow-up and coordination between the two ministries to ensure smooth operations and meet the requirements and challenges faced by municipalities under the current circumstances.
