French President Emmanuel Macron revealed that France and Italy are working towards creating a multinational coalition to replace the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Following discussions with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Macron stated that the two countries "intend to launch a post-UNIFIL alliance, in coordination with the European Union and the United Nations, with the aim of strengthening Lebanon's sovereignty and the sovereignty of its armed forces."
