From Zafta to Al-Musailiha: How Security Forces Unraveled a Mysterious Theft Ring
Lebanese Internal Security Forces arrested a suspect in Al-Musailiha after investigating a series of air conditioner compressor thefts across southern towns, including Zafta and Nabatieh.

The following statement was issued by the General Directorate of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division:
As part of the daily monitoring conducted by the Internal Security Forces to combat theft operations in various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch obtained data regarding an unidentified individual stealing air conditioner compressors ("Compressors - OUTDOOR UNIT") in several areas of the South, most recently on the night of September 28, 2026, from a restaurant in the town of Zafta.
Following investigations and inquiries, the Branch identified the suspect as:
C.H. (born in 1992, Lebanese)
On the same date, after precise surveillance, one of the Branch's patrols spotted him driving a white Rapid car without license plates in the town of Al-Musailiha, where they proceeded to arrest him. Upon searching him and the vehicle, three air conditioner compressors and a quantity of hashish were seized.
During interrogation, he confessed to the charges attributed to him, admitting to carrying out approximately four similar theft operations and stealing a generator, including the aforementioned incident, in the areas of Zafta, Nabatieh, Al-Musailiha, and Deir Qanoun En-Nahr. He also admitted to using hashish.
The detainee was referred to the competent authority for legal proceedings, based on judicial instructions."
