Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar chaired a meeting on security preparations for the upcoming launch of Rene Moawad-Qlayaat Airport, confirming full readiness of all agencies.

Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Hajjar chaired, in his office, the periodic meeting to follow up on preparations at President Rene Moawad – Qlayaat Airport, and the security measures to accompany the launch of the first expected flights next November, in coordination with relevant parties.
During the meeting, the level of security readiness at the airport was reviewed, along with the procedures and plans that must be completed to ensure its protection and guarantee the safety of travelers, arrivals, and workers there, as well as aviation traffic security. This included enhancing coordination and integration between various security agencies and relevant administrations, in line with the requirements for operating the airport according to adopted standards.
Minister Hajjar affirmed that the Airport Security Force and all other security agencies affiliated with the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities are fully ready to secure the operation of the airport and ensure a safe and organized launch for this vital facility, immediately upon completion of construction works and required equipment.
Attending the meeting were Brigadier General Fadi Kafouri, Commander of the Rafic Hariri International Airport - Beirut Security Force; Ziad Al-Mulla, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sky Lounges Services; Brigadier General Ahmad Hamdan, Commander of the Embassy, Public Administrations, and Institutions Security Force; Major General Yasser Al-Mayss, Commander of the Rafic Hariri International Airport - Beirut Company within the Internal Security Forces; Colonel George Dagher, Head of the General Security Department at Rafic Hariri International Airport - Beirut; and Senior Inspector Shukri Al-Hajj, representing the General Directorate of Customs as Head of the Travelers Department in the Free Zone.
