Heikal Receives German Ambassador in Courtesy Visit
Lebanese Army Commander Joseph Aoun received the German Ambassador to Lebanon, Thomas Zahneisen, for a courtesy visit. They discussed strengthening military cooperation and support for the Lebanese Armed Forces.

Army Commander General Joseph Aoun received the German Ambassador to Lebanon, Thomas Zahneisen, at his office in Yarzé during a courtesy visit marking the assumption of his duties in Lebanon, accompanied by German Military Attaché Major Kai Zimmermann. During the meeting, Ambassador Zahneisen stressed the importance of supporting the army during this critical phase, and they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Lebanese and German armies, as well as the post-UNIFIL period.
Aoun also expressed his gratitude to the German authorities for their continued support of the army amidst existing challenges.
Additionally, he received British Deputy Chief of Defence Staff Lt. Gen Charlie Kollins with an accompanying delegation, where they addressed the post-UNIFIL phase and ways to support the army and enhance its capabilities, particularly regarding border control and protection, given the exceptional circumstances facing the country.
