Heikal to EU Ambassador: We Appreciate Multiple Initiatives to Support the Lebanese Army

Army Commander General Rodolphe Heikal received European Union Ambassador Sandra De Waele and an accompanying delegation at his office in Yarzé. The discussion covered developments and updates in Lebanon and the region, as well as the post-UNIFIL phase.

During the meeting, Ambassador De Waele affirmed the European Union's continued support for the military institution and praised the army's role as a guarantor of security and stability in Lebanon.

On the other hand, General Heikal appreciated the European Union's multiple initiatives to support the army, especially during the current phase.

He also received the Maronite Archbishop of Jbeil, Michel Aoun, along with a delegation. Archbishop Aoun presented General Heikal with an invitation to attend a mass on the occasion of the first centenary of the beatification of the Martyrs of Masabki, which will be held at Saint George Cathedral in Aaqoura.
