IMF Reconsiders Agreement with Lebanon
The IMF is delaying the signing of a financial agreement with Lebanon following a constitutional challenge to the bank restructuring law by President Joseph Aoun.

Al-Nashra learned from informed sources that an agreement was set to be signed between Lebanon and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the coming days, but the appeal filed by President Joseph Aoun before the Constitutional Council regarding the bank restructuring law will freeze the signing until the Council rules on the fate of the law.
According to the information, international indicators reached Lebanon in recent hours indicating that the Fund, which had welcomed the aforementioned law, will proceed cautiously before moving towards signing the agreement, fearing fundamental amendments that do not align with the IMF's vision.
