Interior Minister Discusses Syrian Refugee Return Plan with UNHCR Representative

Interior Minister Ahmed Al-Hajjar received Carolina Lindholm Billing, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) representative in Lebanon, at his office. She was accompanied by Shukrallah Aboujoudeh, the senior liaison officer at the organization.

The meeting addressed the current situation and recent developments in Lebanon and the region, including the humanitarian needs resulting from the recent aggression against Lebanon. Discussions also covered the conditions of displaced persons and ways to respond to ongoing humanitarian challenges.

The conversation further included updates on the plan for the return of Syrian refugees to their country. Minister Al-Hajjar emphasized the importance of exchanging data related to the refugees to ensure its consistency with the information held by the Lebanese General Directorate of General Security.
