Iran Warns Israel to Withdraw from Lebanon or Face Defeat

The commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, Esmail Qaani, stated that Israel must voluntarily withdraw from all Lebanese lands or it will be compelled to flee in defeat, according to Iranian official media cited by Reuters.

Last week, the United States and Iran signed a temporary agreement to end hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, pledging to uphold Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity. For Tehran, this entails the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon.

Senior Israeli and Lebanese officials have denied any Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, following a U.S. official's claim that Israel had pulled some troops from the area as a goodwill gesture toward the Lebanese government.
