The Israeli army issued a statement announcing "the injury of an Israeli soldier with serious wounds and an officer with moderate wounds last Friday as a result of an operational incident in southern Lebanon."

The Israeli army's announcement today comes after Hebrew media reports on Saturday indicated that 8 soldiers were injured in an operational incident involving Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.
The Ynet website reported, citing the Israeli army spokesperson, that 8 soldiers were injured on Friday with minor wounds as a result of an operational traffic accident between two vehicles in southern Lebanon.
The site noted that 6 of the soldiers were evacuated for treatment at the hospital, then all of them returned home.
The Israeli army spokesperson confirmed that the army has begun an investigation into the incident to determine its circumstances.
