NSSF Director General Mohammad Karky met with the Nabatieh Merchants Association delegation, promising to study exemptions and facilitations for businesses affected by Israeli aggression in southern Lebanon.

National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Director General Mohammad Karky received a delegation from the "Nabatieh Merchants Association" at his office, led by the head of the Nabatieh Governorate Merchants Association, Moussa Al-Har Shmaisani, accompanied by Vice President Hassan Hussein and member of the Saida and South Chamber of Commerce and Industry board Ibrahim Ismail Tairani. The meeting was also attended by Vice President of the General Federation of Workers Hajj Hassan Faqih.
The delegation briefed Karky on the difficult economic and security conditions facing the city of Nabatieh and neighboring villages due to the ongoing near-daily Israeli aggression against southern Lebanon.
In this context, the delegation explained to Karky "the situation of institutions and factories, particularly those that were completely destroyed or fully or partially disabled from working due to the conditions prevailing in the southern regions in general and the city of Nabatieh in particular."
Among the most prominent demands raised were the following:
1. Discussing exemptions and facilitations for all institutions and commercial shops in Nabatieh and its suburbs, whether they suffered direct damage or not.
2. Approving exceptional treatment that takes into account closures, disruptions, and declining economic activity, without fining institutions.
3. A temporary reduction in social security contributions proportional to reduced hours and partial work.
For his part, Karky affirmed "following up on all demands and standing alongside business owners, employees, and residents in the city of Nabatieh to support their steadfastness and secure the minimum requirements for life in the city and its surroundings."
Karky gave immediate instructions to the relevant directors and department heads to prepare appropriate studies and solutions to address the legitimate problems and demands raised by the Nabatieh Merchants Association.
