President Joseph Aoun met with Army Commander Rudolf Heikal to review the overall security situation in Lebanon, with particular focus on the southern regions amid ongoing Israeli attacks on several villages and towns there.
The discussion also covered preparations underway to implement the framework agreement in designated pilot areas, where the Lebanese Army is expected to deploy simultaneously with the Israeli withdrawal.
During the meeting, they examined the army’s missions throughout Lebanon, alongside the conditions of the military institution and the needs of its personnel.
