The Lebanese Army destroyed 60 dunums of hashish crops in Baalbek and detained 17 Syrian workers without legal papers, seizing harvesting equipment.

The Lebanese Army Command – Guidance Directorate issued the following statement:

"A unit of the army worked to destroy an area planted with hashish estimated at 60 dunums in the town of Al-Kanisa – Baalbek, and detained 17 Syrian workers there without legal papers, and seized in their possession the equipment used in harvesting the hashish.

The seized items were handed over, and the investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
