During the meeting, Raji thanked "the European Union for its continued support for Lebanon," stressing "the importance of the role played by the Union, especially at this delicate stage that Lebanon is going through."
Bellamy explained that "his visit to Beirut falls within the context of directly assessing the field reality, particularly in the southern border villages," affirming that it "carries in its essence a clear message of support that Lebanon is not alone, and that it enjoys a steadfast European and French interest that has not changed and will not change."
