Prime Minister Nawaf Salam addressed the situation regarding official exams, stating that due to the increasing number of interpretations and rumors about the fate of the baccalaureate exams, he has been monitoring the matter closely alongside Minister Rima Karam in recent days. He emphasized the government's responsibility to protect the quality of education in Lebanon and uphold students' rights to receive their official certificates after their efforts. At the same time, ensuring the safety and security of students amid the country's exceptional circumstances remains a priority. Additionally, it is essential to guarantee equal opportunities for all exam candidates to the greatest extent possible.

Salam added that he advocates for postponing any final decision on these exams until it becomes clear whether the announced ceasefire will be effectively implemented. In any case, he indicated that the scheduled date for the first round of exams, set for the first of next month, should be deferred. This postponement would allow all students adequate time to prepare properly if the decision is made to proceed with the exams. Otherwise, the option to provide students with official attestations from their schools remains available.
