Union Secretary-General Jean Pierrot said visitor numbers reached 12,000—down from 15,000 last year—with occupancy at mountain resorts at 80% and coastal bookings exceeding 70%, while guesthouses have resumed hosting weddings previously canceled.
Jean Pierrot, Secretary-General of the Lebanese Federation of Tourism Unions, reported that the number of incoming visitors stands at 12,000, compared to 15,000 in the previous year, and emphasized expectations for a gradual improvement in those figures.
In an interview with MTV, Pierrot disclosed that occupancy rates at tourism establishments in the mountain regions have reached 80 percent, while booking levels along the coast have surpassed 70 percent. He added that guesthouses have resumed holding weddings that had been canceled earlier.
Pierrot extended his thanks to officials working diligently to shift the sector from a phase of instability toward one of stability.
