Lebanon has officially adopted electronic signatures and digital official documents across its public administrations, marking a key step toward digital governance.

Minister of State for Technology Kamal Shihadeh posted on the "X" platform:
Lebanon has taken a fundamental step towards digital government with the commencement of adopting electronic official documents and electronic signatures in public administrations.
The Cabinet approved the implementing decree regulating their use, prepared by the Ministry of Justice in cooperation with the Ministry of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
The decree puts Law No. 81/2018 into effect and provides public administrations with a framework for creating, signing, exchanging, and securely storing electronic official documents. It also allows administrations to gradually transition from paper transactions while ensuring the integrity and validity of electronic documents.
