Lebanon has requested a defined timeline for the withdrawal of Israeli forces amid ongoing negotiations with Israel, according to a US source.

A US source told Al-Hadath channel on Wednesday that Lebanon has requested a "clear and specific timeline" for the withdrawal of Israeli troops.
The source added that Israeli-Lebanese talks are focused on establishing a "mechanism and formula" to implement any agreements reached between the two sides.
It was also noted that Lebanon insists on a complete ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli forces.
The source pointed out that Washington views the Lebanese army commander and the military institution as a "partner" in executing security understandings, emphasizing the Lebanese army as the "main force" in areas from which Israel might withdraw.
Furthermore, the source indicated there is relative progress in Lebanese-Israeli discussions regarding "withdrawal and deployment mechanisms," highlighting that the negotiating atmosphere between the parties is "more optimistic despite disagreements."
